Training Programs

The following information contains the Basic Training Levels that we offer. Please remember Advanced K-9 prides itself on being flexible to meet our clients needs and wants. Call for current pricing. Price depends on training and breed.

We can custom train your K-9 to be the best it can be in your situation. We can provide you with recommendations once we are familiar with your circumstances.

Phase One Protection Training Program

K-9s at this level will perform on and off leash obedience ( heel, sit, down, stay, recall). The Controlled Aggression exercises include:
 

  • Alert on Command (bark and show signs of aggression, on-leash

  • Be Quiet on Command (quiet and return to heel or down position, on-leash)

  • Bite and Hold (bite attacker and hold until release is given, off-leash)

  • Release and Guard on Command (release bite and guard attacker, off-leash)

  • Pursue and Apprehend (K-9 will chase, bite and hold attacker, off-leash).

Training environment includes parks, city streets, and in the home.

 



 

Phase Two Protection Training Program

  • K-9s at this level will perform all of the exercises in Phase One and the following:

  • All above Aggression Control exercises while under gunfire or other weapon present ( stick, bottle, knife, etc.),

  • Escort and re-attack ( K-9 will escort prisoner to desired location and will bite and hold, if prisoner re-attacks or tries to escape.)
    Training environment includes all in Phase One plus office setting.

 

Phase Three Protection Training Program

This is The "Black Tie" of Protection Training. K-9s will perform all exercises in Phase One and Two plus the following:

  • On command, will search the home or office for possible intruders,

  • Protect the vehicle against car jacking,

  • Pursue and Apprehend through a crowd and over obstacles,

  • Release and return to handler ( on command K-9 will release bite and return to handler ),

  • Weapon removal and re-attack ( K-9 will guard prisoner so handler can do a weapons search. If prisoner tries to escape or re-attack, K-9 will bite and hold to protect the handler ).

Training environment includes all in Phase One and Two plus vehicles, parking lots, and car situations (stop lights, break down on road side, etc. ).

Additional training may include poison proofing, close quarter entries, SWAT and SRT,  firearm detection, explosive detection, narcotic detection, tracking and custom situational training depending on your needs.


Handler Training

Handler training is included in the purchase price. Clients must complete the handler's training course before the dog is released to them. This course is 2-3 days long and is located at our facility in the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado. The training can be for an individual or an entire family. Transportation, food, and room not included in base price. Handler Training can be done at your location and home for an additional fee. Training will be video taped and given to the handler for future reference. Follow-up support is also provided.
